Haven't read all the post as I came in here late. However I have started another hatch after the previous was a disaster. I've got 4 Dels and 5 CM's on day 8. I'm hoping I'll have better luck w/ a smaller batch. Made some changes so here's hoping. I am curious tho as to why people hatch? I'm hatching to sell CM chicks and replenish my supply of Dels as 4 of those I have are older and I don't know how old. Also I've ordered Del eggs from Specklehen and want the experience. I also have 2 broodies sitting on eggs as a back up.
So why are you hatching eggs?

Ok I have not read this entire post but had to add to it. I have just finished a hatch

got 10 big robust fuzzy butts out of 18 eggs from e-bay of all places best hatch ever on shipped eggs I think only because I was not expecting much I bought 12 4 each of BCM, GCM, Splash Marans he shipped 6 of each.

so so happy.

I am hatching the BLRW because I want to start a breeding program with them.
The welsummers are because I want... correction... need darker eggs to complete my pretty colorful egg baskets

Congratulations to everyone that is hatching today or that has already hatched! So exciting, I dont care how many time you do it or see it, each one is special!

I'm only on day 6 of incubation

You guys won't believe the crazy dreams I had last night...Instead of us all being here online, we all had our eggs in a huge barn so we could see everyone's hatching at the same time. I went to check on mine and 4 had hatched but 2 of them were missing, then I found a fox, that had gotten my chicks and a few other eggs in the barn so my DH got his gun and took the fox outback and got rid of it. My eggs were hatching so fast I didn't even have time to get the video camera. Then the last 2 hatched, they turned out to be guineas ??? and started flying around with Tinkerbell because I guess in my dreams guineas like fairies

I told this dream to my DH right before he left for work...he left the room saying "OOOOkkkaaaayyyy, I'm just going to leave you alone now crazy chicken lady" and closed the door, lol!!! Wow, I really hope these little guys do something today, I can't take another night of those dreams, hahaha!

Still no pips, I swear I saw the #2 egg move last night but I was starring so hard at them I think my eyes are crossing,

so probably not. I'm going to go shopping to get my mind off of them (well, I'll still be thinking about them) and give them more time

Good job Madcap621 and awesome pics too!!! I just hope mine will do something today too, I'm a nervous basket case right now.

when I would switch and look at a different egg, another egg out of the corner of my eye would move, so then I started darting my eyeballs around the bator to try and catch one moving.... never worked out though

UPDATE: I can hear the peeping while I sit at the computer now (about 5 feet away), they are getting louder. Don't know if that means anything. still no pips

I think they are taunting me inside their shells
