I'm another going into lockdown tomorrow morning, Wednesday. We have in 4 BLRW's, 2 Welsummers & 3 Barnvelders from JamesA, plus 4 of our own mystery bantams. The kids are anxious to do the final candling tonight!

Day 1

PP#9 was clear, but #8 hatched just fine, as did BV#1, which had also stuck to #9.
Believe it or not they all turned nicely with the autoturner.

20 made it to lockdown, 15 hatched day 20-21, now on day 22 & it's pouring rain & I'm giving them one more day

Candled and locked down tonight.

Discarded both of friend's eggs - clear/infertile

, and 5 of the remaining 8 "store-bought"s - 4 clear, one early quitter. Of my remaining 17 bantam Ameracaunas, discarded 2 quitters

& 15 went into lockdown looking GREAT!

15 out of 26 shipped eggs.

I am very pleased!

Lock Down Today!

* Oh My Goodness... I have had dreams about hatching out chickies for the past 2 nights! Its Crazy!

I went ahead and candled last night, theres 6 thats I just cant tell about, should I just leave them in? The shell is just to dark for me to see...

today is day 21, not much happening yet.

i need to clean off the window someone keeps leaving nose prints on it. ( i wonder who that could be, me hehehe ) will keep you all posted if/when something more happens

WOW! It was an exciting day around here! Nothing going on when I left for work yesterday morning, but I got texts from my kids throughout the day and by 8:30 we had two baby partidge rocks!! My grandsons were deliriously happy to be here watching the whole thing! What a way to make memories!

nhnanna - Ok thanks... they are not weeping and I didnt smell anything weird last night while candling them. But I'll smell them again before I do lock down

Today is day 21.My chicks started pipping and zipping late on day 19 and started hatching on day 20. So on day 21 have 11 eggs left
to hatch and most all of them have pips. Lost 1 on the first day of hatching so may be going for 54 out of 56.
This is a picture of what we have so far. They have not been huddled up like this but when we went in to take the picture
my wife coughed and they ran to one spot.
