Okay, the last of my eggs arrived this morning. I'm putting them in the incubator tonight so tomorrow will be day 1 for me. Counting down to February 20th!

After a recount (math is so not my best subject!) I have 38 eggs going in the incubator: 14 LF Faverolles, 7 Blue Wheaten Ameraucanas, 17 Silkies.

7 of my frizzle eggs are good they are due the 9th I think I need to check up on that it might be later. I am setting LF salmon, blue salmon, and white faverolles and bantam salmon faverolles in the first few days of the month.

Okay, day 5 here - I was gone for several hours, came back, and saw the temp at about 103, maybe 102.5 - I immediately tried lowering it, but how much should I worry of this destroying them? I don't know how long they were that hot, but what are my chances now? I've heard 103 is bad, so I'm just really worried.

I put mine in (my first) yesterday, Thurs..Jan. 28th around 11pm, finally bit the bullet and quite prolonging it. I've got 8 Silkie eggs (thank you Constance!!), and 24 Orpingtons (thank you Jackie!!). These are supposed to be test eggs...but I couldn't help but throw some Silkies in there!..and the Orpingtons come from absolutely gorgeous parents!

I guess I will be joining the hatch-a-long. I set 27 black copper marans, 24 easter eggers and 13 rhode island red eggs on Tuesday. That puts me hatching sometime around 2/16/10.

I candled today (day 3) and could already see development in the RIR and EE eggs. The BCM eggs don't look much darker in the photo but in real life they are much too dark to candle this early.

Here are the eggs (2 seperate incubators)

I would say that if you are sure they didn't get over 103.5 you are fairly safe. Was this a still air or forced air incubator? I have had short spikes as high as 107 before with 100% hatch rates.

Day 23
between Humidity Dip & a 104 Temp spike, my chicks were shrink wrapped. I should ahve helped when I first couldn't hear them cheeping & peeping anymore.

Bought 2 new Hygrometers they are calibrating in the ziplock over night,

I have 8 more eggs headed to lock down on Sunday, hatch Feb 3.
then 7 more to hatch Feb 16th...

trying again & again to get this right.
