WHAT have I DONE!!!!

I was doing SO GREAT, being SO GOOD!!! I candled, put the B-Wellies in the new bator, took the turner out of the H-Bator to get it ready to Hatch in 8 days and did humidity experiments. Everything going great, so sat down to catch up on posts while I wait to see what adding a Tablespoon of water to the cardboard egg cup will do.

Then I saw it! 24 of the most beautiful blue eggs! From BANTAM AMRICANAS

So what's a banty addict who NEEDS beautiful blue eggs to go with her beautiful shades-of-brown and freckled eggs to do!

I BOUGHT 'em of course!

So, put the plugs back in, put the turner back in, sucked the extra water out so H-Bator will be ready this week-end when new eggs arrive! Guess I'm in for a DOUBLE Feb hatch or perhaps the March one?

I have really GOT to get started on my coop!

I have a staggerd hatch going into lock down Feb.9,11,and16. all JG's. 10 RIR and 12 more JG eggs coming in mail any day. Just got a Gamehatcher from a cousin that holds 288 chicken eggs. My DW is gonna flip. LOL I might not fill it up all at once. Maybe? hahaha So far everything is perfect. temp is 99.5-101 and humidity is 45-57% depending on weather. Wish me luck!

We have 6 .. and man, is it hard to take pics through the plexiglass .. LOL

I did have to open the bator .. one little smarty was standing up on the eggs and pecking at the heating element ...

I had to move the cartons a bit to give the little ones that have hatched a little more room ..

They are popping out like Ninja Chicks!

Just candled my precious silky eggs tonight and GRRRRREEEAAAT NEWS!!!!

WE HAVE 4 BABIES(forming)!!!!

I just can't BELIEVE it!!!! I had a major SPIKE in the beginning where the temp went to 114 and then hung around 104 for the first 3 hours and then FINALLY stabilized!!!

Then one week in I lost electric for 3 hours and the eggs went down to 70!!! So this is TRULY a Miracle!!!! Out of 8 eggs 4 have nice size chickie babies and the others show no signs of anything!!!! SOOOO EXCITED! Just wanted to share!
