what day are you on? today is hatch day for us.. with hearing the peeping and it being loud in there I am worried that one may have piped upside down. I have to sit on my hands after hearing the peep.

I know not to touch anything, I am prob just over worrying since seeing the one thread where they had an upside down pip. I am half tempted to take them out of the egg carton and lay them on the mesh, now I am worried that they may be too confined standing straight up.

someone tell me I am worrying over nothing and it is normal for them to peep this long without pipping!

To add to the mania, I like to click my flashlight on too often while peering in to search for a pip & another pip. I imagine by the time they hatch, they are pretty upset with who it was with the flashlight. (I'll never tell)

Feather Landings: You have fantastic dreams, that's wonderful! An imaginative writer in the making, you are.

Orpy: The wide ends of the eggs are up, so eggs are in the correct position in the cartons, right! You are doing so good by not opening the incubator & loosing precious humidity.

On Christmas, my hubby who always gets up too early walked by the incubator, turned on the light, & was surprised to see 3 zipped eggs suddenly pop open their little egg hats. The chicks leaped, like they were just waiting for an excuse to come out. Shoot, I was still sleeping & missed it. For a while, I thought the egg carton thing was goofy, but so glad I tried it. Really like the way the upright position allows them to climb out of the shell in their own time, instead of being knocked around in different positions & forced to fall out.

We're all waiting for hatching news!

edit: Almost forgot to mention that I had left my wallet & phone at home (because it fell out of my purse on the way out), so........ I had to go home to get it for various reasons. Besides, I'm one of the bosses. Well........ while I was there, I clicked on the flashlight & found 1 pip. What a convenient mistake that wallet thing was.

WOO HOO theres 11 buttons so far out of 33 and still going!!! 1 out of 3 eggs from my brown coturnix hatched so far!!!!
Well Ignore the widely spread feed but I found it easier to get them started eating that way with all the quails i've had so far then put it all in a lid later on once they got some food in them.
