One reason I chose the Brinsea Eco was the see through factor. Here's some pictures from the bator today.

Thanks aceschix! That is very important info. I have known for several years about the oxygen levels causing the pip, but did not know about the other things like stomach & legs. Nature is truly amazing! Do you know of any sites that have this info? Happy hatching!

Debi, I haven't done a lot of hatching and I haven't had a lot of luck with my numbers BUT all of my chicks have been bantams [Salmon Favorells, Porcelain D'Uccles, RIR, OEGB, B-Welsummers, B-Cochin, Silver Spangled Hamburg, Silkie and Dk. Brown Leghorn. None have hatched early, most have had no action until late on day 21, most have hatched on day 22 and some on day 23.

I am nervous chickiemama right now. I am not home, no one is home, what is the temp? What is the humidity? Is it ok, has anything pipped.

This is my first hatch Debbie, but first out was the Ameracauna, then all three of the bantams, I'm on day 20. So mine did hatch early.

I'm so happy for you:weee I'm only on day 20 at 7:00pm give or take a few minutes so maybe mine will do something tomorrow.

I understand 'nervous chickie momma" - me too. SO, I will share a secret. My best hatch happened while I was stranded away from home. Nothing had happened on day 21.

Well being a chemist I like things to be text book perfect. One of my favorite orchid judges always says "The problem is the orchids don't read the book". Maybe chickens are more like orchids than I thought
