awsome

mine are in the brooder know

It's day 22. Of 11 eggs that went into lockdown, 4 have hatched, 6 still sitting, 1 died mid-hatch. Of the 4 that have hatched, one was very weak and not doing well and passed away about half an hour ago. I still have 3 good chicks. It was our first hatch. We learned a great deal from this experience.

We're setting our next batch on Sunday. Those will hatch March 13. Then we'll do the Easter hatch, and then maybe 1 more after that.

Happy Valentines day to all the chicken lovers and their new hatched babies. Our hatch day is Feb. 28th. Cant wait for the day I get my very first chick hatched at home. 18 eggs are Aruacana, 2 EE and 5 mixed banties. This is day 7 of candeling and I have a heck- of- a- time seeing anything!

Sunday is a good day to set eggs according to the farmers almanac and the moon Good Luck to you.
Set chicken eggs

FEB. 11,12,20,21,22

MARCH 20,21

I looked up the moon phases due to the 20 and 21 are on both months, both dates fall on the day 18 and day 19 of the waning moon. if that means anything. It sounds like good folklore and a challenge to try to set on those dates.

day 14, 40 set, 12 non starters, 38 still looking good, but having incubator issues so just holding my breath we'll get some hatchers.

Debating on taking day 21 off work to watch the hatch, guess it depends on how they look then. Wish it was easy to take the bator to work with me. My coworkers would LOVE watching a hatch.
