Don't add any more water! Sounds like you have oodles. Bet when you lift the lid, you feel a lot of humidity. Temps always change when humidity changes. Temps will go down when humidity goes up. Temps go up when humidity is low. You don't want too high a humidity right now if you are close to lockdown. It can cause too much goop to happen. Calibrated thermometer? Good, still, liift the lid, ...I promise, a quick check wont hurt...if it's feeling pretty damp when you open it, I'm guessing here too... you more than likely have enough humidity in there. During lock down, add a bit more, just a bit, on second day of lock down. Don't worry about temps being lower during lock down, I always lower mine during lockdown. Good luck, lookig forward to photos of babies.Newbie help please! I am struggling to keep my temp up now that I took out my turner. It's been cycling between 98.4 and 99.9. I have been adding warm/hot water to the incubator to get the humidity up but it still seems to mess with the temp. I also have added what seems like a lot of water to the incubator, almost 2 cups since yesterday 10am I have 2 sponges and a washcloth in there. It does have a fan and we are in the driest time of year here, so I know that plays a part. I have calibrated my hygrometers with salt. I have been using a straw and syringe and not opening the incubator at all. I am hovering around 60% humidity.
Does all this sound ok? Eggs were rocking yesterday, and only saw 2 little bits of movement so far today on Day 19. So stressful!! Glad lockdown is only a few days and not a whole week!!
