february hatch along

I juse realized I goofed up and didn't get pics before my friend picked up the chicks and turkey poult...... I managed to hatch 11 out of 21 that went into lockdown but one chick kept turtling on me and didn't make it. I managed to help the one turkey poult out of the egg..... it was alive when my friend took it home. It was still in rest mode, it just wanted to lay there on its side, my last poult did that for over 24 hours after hatch and then it slowly came around and is fine now at 2 months.... lol

The chicken bible "Hatcing &brooding your own chicks" says to let them get cold and heat them up later, going dormant is better than letting them develop at the wrong temp, she says 12 hrs w/o power will delay the hatch, and 18 hrs will play with the percentage of hatch but will not kill'm.
Luckily the power hasn't been out for very long, and is not currently out, but I do see brown outs happening. (lights flickering).

My chicks I hatched last month still think I am a gross monster, but they like the food I bring them. I guess it is like my dog, the second you set it down he forgets who gave it to him... "Grrr".
