I was surprised and almost sad none of mine has the chipmunk pattern, it's rather adorable.I got floofs!!!!!!!!
First time having chicks but when mine are under the pad they are generally either quiet or occasionally very softly cheeping.Ugh and as i post this i found a chick stuck to the press and seal covering the heating pad....off its coming.
Edited to ask: Is it normal for them to go under the heating pad and get quiet? Its freaking me out. Also i have 1 that seems to only be eatinf the tiniest of specks of food instead of the big ones. And i believe it was that one that was also like laying under the brooder with its head down. I coaxed her out and she ate and drank but im already worried.
Edited to add: they have come out from the brooder a couple times now to eat and drink and when they do they are noisy. But when they all tuck back in they get quiet.
Edited to further worry: ok it seems like any chicks under thr brooder are doing this lay down and put their head down. And a couple have fallen asleep witht their heads down then they startle back awake when their beaks hit the floor. Im gueasing normal and i should let them sleep.
Thanks. My first time too. Ive had laying hens for 5 years but always got 8 week olds.First time having chicks but when mine are under the pad they are generally either quiet or occasionally very softly cheeping.
