Febuary hatch a long

This is my setup. Not bad for being thrown together fast.

I added the sign last night to remind the kids we're in lockdown.

On day 15!!! Very excited but I have had the worst time trying to keep humidity up...it's been around 35 even with a wet sponge hasn't gone above 39! A couple air cells look bigger than they should... Any tips?

I'm on day 15 too!!! Lockdown Sunday....cant wait!!

Your humidity suggest a dry hatch, keeping Humidity between 25-35 and there are many here that do it with great results! I went into this hatch deciding not to do it, then changed my mind and allowed my humidity to go down a few days ago and I am going to finish this with dry hatching.. My humidity right now is 36 and temps are running between 101.4 - 102.6
Some of my air cells are a tab bit bigger, some are a tad smaller... I figure each egg is different with different dynamics and I cannot perfectly regulate everything with each egg...

Good Luck!!!

Congrats on getting ready for lock-down. A trick I have been using for a couple years now with great results, do not laugh but I buy the super absorbent Women's pads soak them with as much water as they can hold and place them around the incubator, works great and when the chicks hatch they love sitting on top of them.

And just recently after my 14 grand baby was born and I started babysitting her I started using diapers and they seem to work great also.

I candled only some eggs yesterday on day 14. Seeing some blood rings, infertiles, 1 dead embryo. Doesn't look good for this hatch. :( I think I'll be lucky to see any chicks hatch out healthy out of these 25 eggs.

I've got some very important & rare hatching eggs I'll be picking up in 2 weeks. Working on getting a digital sportsman incubator to hatch them in. :D

I love the maternity ward pic. Too cute! :)
