I called a vet that will do a fecal float for my chickens. The cost is $57.00/bird. 😲. I was thinking it would be good to see if they have any worms and what kind, before I treat them. But at that cost, I may just do Valbezen. I’ve never treated these birds for worms and they are a year and 4 months. I’m seeing quite a bit of runny poo, but it’s hot and they are drinking a lot. Is I typical to just treat for this in the fall season?

That does seem pretty expensive! Call around, and there are labs that will run fecals for you too. Maybe your state veterinary lab? Also, most often fecals are run on a flock basis, not for individuals, so a mix of several individual samples is the way to go.
