Feed and amount for 6 week olds

Get your pullets on a quality Poultry Developer and provide the feed ad libitum access to the feed and water. Trying to hand feed pullets may lead to underfeeding which may impair their growth rate, ultimate mature body size, and hurt lifetime production of the hens.

Thanks ya'll. I forgot to include that i have 4 chicks. cup 1 and 1/2 to 2 cups a day is what it looks like.

I figured this would be pretty straight forward. Im mean even dog food has a suggested daily amount depending of the weight. Im not opposed to feeding the little rascals as much as they want but i was just curious as to how much and if they could possibly overfeed (like dogs).

I plan to set up a pvc feeder soon so i wont really notice how much they are eating on a daily basis. As for now they just peck out of deep dish, once in the morning and once in the evening.

heading to the feed store, thanks again.

I leave feed out for my chickens 24/7. The don't overeat like some dogs and don't need to be fed meals. You've been feeding them a food that is too low in protein for their age, so they will need to eat even more food than normal, to make up for that. Parrot food is more expensive than chicken feed, which you can by at a feed store, farm store or feed mill. They could be eating a chick starter, grower or starter/grower combination feed right now. After they start laying eggs, you should feed them a layer feed, that will have more calcium in it.
