Feed during molt?

    Now that it's molting time, should I change what I'm feeding? The hens are on Layena and kitchen scraps, everything else they forage from the yard and flowerbeds.

    Some people do and say you should, but I always leave them on the same diet. (Layer, scraps, scratch and grass). If you have a chicken book it should advise you. As I don't change their diet I'm really not sure what some people switch them too. Although when I had less I would throw them catfood which is high in animal proteins (not dogfood, it is grain, not meat) to assist with the extra feather growth. Good luck!
