Feed is accumulating in rooster's throat!

Sounds like an impacted crop. This is just something I've heard a couple of times, but perhaps a spoonful of olive oil would help lubricate up what's left inside his throat and help it move?

The picture shows that the impaction is at the top of the esophagus, which is a long ways from the crop. If one were to put oil in there he would probably aspirate the oil, which would probably cause lipoid pneumonia and kill him.
