Feed Meat?

Meat is a protein source. My chickens love it, and they haven't eaten each other yet.

It probably should be cooked in oder to avoid disease.

I feed my flock hamburger meat regularly. I buy them between 1-2lbs./week. I mostly started doing it with my Onagadori as they have a higher need for protein but ALL the others want it too. I hand feed it to them which allows me to inspect each one as well.

A couple of weeks ago a neighbor brought us a pound or so of ground deer meat.
I don't eat venison (no sense discussing it with me. I've done just fine for 46 yrs. without eating it, don't see no reason to start now).
My SO swears he is going to make chili with it "one of these days" despite the fact that he hasn't cooked a thing in the 2 1/2 yrs. I've lived with him.
It has one more week to be in the freezer, then my chickens are in for a treat. My SO will never miss it.

I threw the whole leftover turkey carcass from Christmas into the coop and in two days you couldn't tell what it used to be.
