So I am working with my feed mill to custom mix feed. Had to modify it some but my prices are the following:

Broiler Mix = 940lb, Mixed, bagged in 50# bags for $190. = About $0.20 lb
Layer Mash = 975 lbs, Mixed, Bagged in 50# bags for $198 = About $0.20 lb

They also do a game-bird feed and rabbit pellet for me.

I can't seem to find anything cheaper but prices go up drastically at other mills within 30 - 40 miles. Any one else got pricing on what they pay.

For Layena pellets, I pay about .24/lb. ($12.00/50#bag). I get them at a local feed mill in Central MN. About 3 years ago you could get the 50# bag for under $8.00!

I pay $.14/pound for both my 17% layer and 23% broiler blend. That being said, I live in a very agricultural area where grain is abundant and my feed mill is very large. I feel very fortunate.

I'm paying ~$400 per ton for a certified organic layer ration (20 cents per pound) in Southwest Wisconsin.

I won't go into the specific proportions, but my invoice for 10,000 lbs from the other day says the prices were:

Organic expelled soybeans @ $881.05 / ton
Organic peas @ $606.35 / ton
Organic wheat @ $273.67 / ton
Organic corn belonged to me but I figure around $210 / ton
Calcium Pellets $210.81 / ton
Organic Layer Pre-Mix @ $67.66 / 50#

Milling charges were $0.421 per hundredweight for the peas, wheat, and corn for a total of $30.08.
Delivery and fuel surcharge (about 30 miles) was $38.00.

I was billed at $287 per ton, but the corn, which was just over half the ration, belonged to me.
If I figure in the value of the corn it comes up to just under $400 per ton for a 16.5 % organic
ration, delivered.

There is a local mill here in Northern Colorado that does a 16% for about 20 dollars per cwt. and 20% for 22 dollars per cwt.

This is not organic and in fifty lb bags.
