Hi I tried to do a search and had no luck to find an answer. I hoping someone can help...

My keets are 6-7 weeks old (that is my best guess) I have had them for about 3 weeks. I had them on 24% game bird starter (that is the highest I could find at the time). It is time to get more feed (they are little piggies!) Do I get higher protein starter, stay the same or go lower? My 50# bag lasted about 3 weeks so I'm guessing a new bag would last about the same. That would make the babies about 9-10 weeks.

If someone could help, that would be great I was gonna try to get the feed today!

Thanks,
Gina

Chick feed is recommended up to around 8 weeks. I think you'll be fine to go to a finisher at this point (~ 20% protein)

THANK YOU!!!

If you don't think they are getting enough on the chick feede you can scramble some eggs to supplement. Scrambled dry so they aren't sticky to stick to beaks. One person here at BYC scrambles them and packs them into a little bowl to form a kind of cake. then she turns it upside down on a plate and sprinkles on chick feed.

My first eleven keets went through fifty pounds of feed in their first four weeks and half that much the next four weeks. So their massive amounts of feed consumption tapers down. for sure..... Right now I have over 30 three week olds that are on their second bag of food.... LOL.

I will sure be glad to get them out of the brooder and into the growout coop.
