so I am looking at the package for Nutrena All Flock and Chick starter. I am trying to figure out why I might want to switch to All Flock in a few weeks as all I can get are pellets and my ducks so far not fans. They loved the crumbles of the chick starter. Biggest difference I could find was protein the all flock has 20% and chick starter has 18%. Are there other reasons to switch from one to the other? I like the Nutrena because of the higher Niacin content than Purina meanings less spent on brewers yeast /. Niacin supplements.

Did you decide not to ferment? that is the only way mine will eat pellets is to make them completely go away. But after a time if that's all they have to eat they will probably eat them? It's a good buy the All Flock because of the niacin content. and 2% difference in Protein makes no difference.

I am fermenting but they still have a feeder of dry when I am away at work. Crumble comes in 50 pounds and pellets in 40 so I wanted to make sure if I decided the crumble was a better value that I wasn’t hurting my ducks.

I use chick starter and layer mixed since I can’t get all flock in NON GMO I think it would be fine to use the crumble as long as you supplement with niacin. Others of course will beg to differ but it hasn’t hurt my flock feeding starter. over winter I just feed starter only and ferment it.

The niacin content of nutrena natural wise starter crumby is 125 ppm or something like that. I have been supplementing with extra peas just Incase while the ducklings are growing and meat based stuff that is higher in vitamin B to mix with it. Do you think I will still need to supplement after ten weeks with niacin that high in the feed?

Riker had wry neck and this one little one has angel wing. But since I finished the switch no more shaking legs out of my little guys any more. They all seem like happy ducks. The older ones even let the younger ones hang out with them.
