I have searched the forums and the internet, and havnt found a good source of feed yet. I want pellets or crumble, preferably organic, and definitely fresh. It needs to be grower/broiler/flock raiser as I will typically have some younger hens and roosters. I believe I can have green mountain feeds shipped to a location about 1.5 hours from me, which might be a decent option. Southern states can get natures best, but it comes from their distribution center, so there is no guarantee of freshness. I can get cracked grain type feed from sunrise farms, but I would have to soak or ferment, as my chickens just pick out out what they want unless I starve them. Does anybody have other suggestions?

Hope this helps. They have dozens of brands and types. GC

Thanks. I have been to few of TSC stores. Currently feeding an organic starter/grower from them. They don't carry an organic grower/broiler pellet, and getting it fresh is hit or miss. The last bag I bought was 42 days from the mill date, which wasn't bad. I spoke with the manager of our Fredericksburg store and she said they could not order what I wanted.

Hi. I live in between Orange, Culpeper and F’burg. I do not like any of TSC’s options either.

Right now I am using Scratch & Peck feeds. I am ordering via Amazon, And get a 15% discount because of my 5+ subscriptions.

I like their feed; organic, with or without corn and I’m pretty sure without soy. Better than that, however is the delivery!! Ordered a bag of Growth feed last Friday evening...it was delivered Sunday! By Fedex. Cost: (25 lbs) $38. Free shipping. Nice people too...imho.

I have fermented the chick starter VERY easily, and I am going to try sprouting the grower feed this weekend.

PM me and I could bring you a sample of each on Sunday,... at Starbucks?

I really appreciate the offer. Scratch and Peck is actually what I raised my last chicks on. It seamed like really good feed. Unfortunately I cant afford it long term. I'll have 20 birds once my new littles are grown. A similar feed is New Country Organics, which is available at 360 farm and pet. Its a lot cheaper and what I am currently feeding. Mine pick out the goodies, so I have to soak it for a few minutes to make mush. I can only do that twice a day, so I wanted something pelleted to keep in the feeder. New Country Has layer pellets, but I have 2 rooster and feel bad making them eat that much calcium.
