I buy the 40lb Purina Gamebird bags and store them in garage for feed, but spotted a mouse last week. Any suggestions for what will hold the feed and seal it?

Just an update. The galvanized trash can was $31 at home depot and the vittle vault $36 for 50lber on amazon. I got the vittle vault for air tightness and it already arrived. Fits the 40lb Purina Gamebird bag perfect with plenty of space up top!

Good to know! Granted, the galvanized trash can probably holds at least twice as much, but if you don't need that much space, then it sounds like the Vittle Vault was worth it.

We use plastic rubbish bins with screw turn lids for our birdseed here. They have the tiniest gap that stops the seed sweating but is waterproof. Also takes 40kgs of seed.
Used to use recycled 44gallon drums, but we got too old to move them around.

I used a plastic garbage can and just put the open bag inside. One day, I noticed an infestation of some kind of insect and retired that can. I had a bunch of 5 gallon buckets and some gamma lids. It takes two buckets to hold the contents of a 50 lb bag. On the plus side, it's a lot easier slinging 25 lbs of feed in one bucket that 50 lbs in a bag.
