So I gather both are Easter Eggers---- as long as they are both hens and lay blue eggs I am okay with that.

Willow legs are green colored. The first layer of color is yellow, with darker pigment on top. If you look at the feet of a willow legged bird, you will see their white soles. Birds with slate legs are similar, but the skin underneath is white.

Hate to break it to you, but there is no guarentee that they will lay blue eggs. As EEs they could lay green or brown eggs also. With EEs, egg color is a surprise.

ee's can lay any color egg from blue to brown to green to pink to white and anything in between

and see. I just hope they both lay eggs! I hatched some eggs this year and I already have some young roos----I don't need any more.

Ameraucanas have SLATE legs, not willow. Green legs are EEs.

Ameraucana
The Ameraucana was developed in the 70's by a few people who were trying to standardize the Araucana breed. The Ameraucana is easier to breed as there are no complications due to lethal genes. A very detailed history of the Ameraucana can be read at the Ameraucana Breeders Club website. Besides the above color requirements the following are some of the traits Ameraucanas should possess:

{eyes - bay (reddish brown)}
{shanks & feet - slate (blue grey) black accepted on black birds, bottoms of feet white}
{ear lobes - red, pale on females (no white)}
{comb - pea}
{wattles - very small, absent}
{skin - white}
{toes - four}
{muffs & beard - forming three separate lobes, absence is a DQ}
{egg color - blue, minty green}
{cock weight - 6.5 lbs/cockerel - 5.5 lbs}
{hen weight - 5.5 lbs/pullet - 4.5 lbs}
{full breast, medium back, and tail carried at 45 degrees above horizontal}
{the bird must breed true to color}

Yes, I said that in my very first post that Ameraucanas need to have slate legs, and pointed out the willow ones on the bird in question. It would help if you read that. But then the OP asked what willow was, so I explained.

Also, even if she had a beard and a muffs, her leg color is wrong for an Ameraucana. They are willow, not slate.

But I took it as, they should be willow and not slate. My mistake
