I think any time you make a major change to feed the flock is going to avoid it. I am lucky because I always had a "Mikey" bird like in that old Post's Life Ad where two kids don't want to try the new food "let Mikey try it, he will eat anything" So Mikey tries it and likes it, end of story. My Mikey bird was always the first to try new feeds If Mikey likes it the rest of the flock would eat it, if not I would have to starve them into eating the feed.
