Well, there is another person I know of on BYC whose duck gets the implants. It's all good.

Gosh, wouldn't it be nice if there were a hormone suppressing feed for $20 a 50# bag?

I have some very old Leghorns that suffer at their end of life. I would switch the whole coop to it if I could reduce their suffering, especially in winter when they should be resting anyway.

I could start a little retirement village coop with shuffle-ball and bingo and serve only that as feed.

Yes, please! Everyone who has the "tainted feed" please bag it, freeze it, and save it for the hens who REALLY need it! Stop wasting it on your girls who are just taking the winter off.

Tbh I know for some the ability to give a hen's body a proper break would be awesome in general

It is funny that people who don't have chickens think we keep them for eggs, but many of us have at least one old girl whom we spoil and isn't even laying.
