Feed Tests - More Results

I heard a conspiracy that had something to do with shining a light that somehow managed to pass through the feed bag and damage the feed. So maybe we need to sell "good light" bulbs?

If the "bad" light is blue, maybe you can sit the feed bag under the red light of the heat lamp?
Hey isn’t that the reason for amber beer bottles compared to clear? You might be on to something lol. Probably wont stop them from laying but maybe make it taste not as good 😂

Most vitamins decay with exposure to light, that's why some brands of milk have opaque jugs. It would take long exposure to do that though, especially any product not next to the container.
I agree but I believe we have seen a long time frame of these bags on shelves from larger box retailers. I think I recall 6/7 months for some? Correct me if wrong….

I've personally never seen ones that old but I know it happens. I don't know if there's light strong enough to make it through the mass of the bag. The workers would sprout extra limbs and mushrooms by that point.

Oh! I want to play!

Vanguard owns part (a crazy small part, but let's not mention that) of BlackRock! So they are hiding (in plain site) their slow and secret control of TSC, because Vanguard... Um...

Actually... Vanguard is pretty big, their share of TSC is tiny in the context of everything they own... And tiny in the context of all the people who own shares in TSC.

https://personal.vanguard.com/us/FundsAllHoldings?FundId=0623&FundIntExt=INT&tableName=Equity&tableIndex=0&sort=SHARES&sortOrder=web.funds.profile.view.FundsAllHoldingsSort$SortOrder@9c2485f&APP=PE#:~:text=Truist Financial Corp.&text=CVS Health Corp.&text=Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co.&text=Gilead Sciences Inc.

So why does Vanguard hate chickens so much they are willing to destroy their own company that sells food & supplies for chickens?
Vanguard is an investment house -they own on behalf of others, as Vanguard has a number of mutual funds and similar instruments which are themselves based on theoretical ownership of an entire market index or market subgroup (sector).

VOO, for instance (VERY popular) is meant to duplicate the moves of the S&P500 essentially exactly, as if you owned a single Share of each and every of the 500 companies in that Index.

So Vanguard "owns it", yes, but as a passive trustee for tens of thousands of individual investors/accounts.

The bag is opaque, and bags are often stacked on top of each other which also blocks light from many parts of each bag.

As a joking hypothesis, it's fun to think about.

But as a serious matter, I do not think light exposure would be causing troubles with the usual bags of chicken food available to backyard chicken keepers.

These results are only for one feed brand. I fed mine Purina organic and saw a decline in their quality, stale and bug ridden. My neighbor with 40 chickens switched to a cheap feed and her hens weren't laying at all, while I was still getting two to five every other day. I had switched to a local feed mill in October. The first week she switched she started getting eggs.
The most bug-ridden food I've ever encountered was Scratch & Peck.

Yes, but that isn't funny... (I understand and completely agree that the quants at Vanguard have no skin in the game of backyard coops)

I should have added a warning (tongue in cheek icon) I apologize for making you work this hard. I realize others reading it might take me seriously. I'll go edit the post.

I adore you folks for sticking with this and being the voices of reason in all of this. I'm truly grateful. I am just so sick of it. I did my best, and people still question it. I'm not doing any more.

I'm a big picture thinker, and the big picture this little episode hints at isn't pretty. I'm too sensitive a soul for the divisiveness because we are all on the same "team" and all want the same things. Why some folks want to be angry is beyond my ability to comprehend.
