Me either. And I know a number of other people that cannot taste a difference between store-bought and home-raise eggs. You know, this is going to be an unpopular statement, but I really don't notice a taste difference.![]()

I think I notice it most if they are hard boiled… I put too much hot sauce on scrambled eggs to matter.I'm glad. It was meant to be funny!
Well duh. Bill Gates owns stock in Google too.

I'd say "I noticed a difference!", but I realised that I actually only ever tried store bought chicken eggs, not duck eggs. So of course theyre different. Still!Me either. And I know a number of other people that cannot taste a difference between store-bought and home-raise eggs.
I agree your eggs MUST be better. The store's ducks likely get very few cuddles and maybe don't even have names!I'd say "I noticed a difference!", but I realised that I actually only ever tried store bought chicken eggs, not duck eggs. So of course theyre different. Still!
Mine probably taste VERY similar to store duck eggs, since I hatched my girls from store eggs. They should be the same as their hens in theory. If there's any difference, I'm sure mine are better![]()
Same for me!Re eggs tasting the same at the store
It isn't the taste for me, it is knowing the hen got to run outside in the sunshine and scratch her little heart out all day and take dust bathes in the shade of trees /shrubs I planted for her and then.... Curl up into a little fluff ball on a roost made of a tree branch I cut just for her.
It is hard to think that if I buy store eggs I am contributing to a hen living in a metal building without windows. That is more than taste... My eggs taste like love. I know "this little egg was a gift from Charlotte" and when I give her snacks or make my "delicious" special pudding (by adding water to feed) I make sure her bigger sisters don't crowd her out of the bowl.
My old girls didn't lay much this winter because they are super old and it was winter in Canada (a it was a very grey winter, very few sunny days, which I know because it was a very snowy year and snow falls from clouds) but I didn't buy store eggs... I took an egg break too.
Same.Same for me!
I stopped eating store eggs years ago. I only eat eggs now because I know they're from very happy healthy ducks!
