My hens dont seem to eat the layers pellets that i give them they prefer to scratch around on the ground it worries me that they might not be getting enough to eat is there any thing else i can give them that is as good as pellets? thanks every one ..

Maybe try layers mash? Thats all we can buy here in Kenya and i have not encountered one chicken that does not eat it.

I found out the hard way that my girls prefer crumbles to pellets. It's the same formula but they did not like those pellets.

Are your girls gaining/losing weight? Are they pooping all right? If that all seems to be ok, try getting crumbles next time and see if they don't eat those better than the pellets.

Maybe if you don't let them free range for a couple days they will eat their layer feed .
