how much food should I feed 12 chickens a day

George, I never measured how much my chickens eat. I have two feeders for 14 chickens, and I keep those full all the time. They eat what they want. I've found that a 50 lb bag of layer feed crumbles lasts about 2 weeks. Longer if you allow them to free range.

Around 3.1 pounds roughly, depending on breed. It could vary between 2 pounds (bantams) to 3.5 pounds, heavy eating breeds
