I just wanted to update on my eggs..........I got 20 mille bantam cochin eggs from Fancy Feathers and 2 were broken due to the very large dent on the side of the box thanks to the P.O.. I just candled for the first and only time (it's day 10) and 16 are developing! I only had to throw out 2 that were duds............i'm so excited!!! I also have 6 of emvickreys sizzle eggs under my very first broody (a 6 month old silkie) and she and the eggs are doing great :) I promised myself and my hubby I was done buying eggs for the year but since i'm having such good luck i'm not so sure I will stick to that lol

I can post a rooster and a hen but it would be different pics :/

Sorry got distracted!

That works. Thanks.

Thanks for the pictures.
To me the Wheaten roosters looks kind of like a Partridge color. What is the difference in the two colors: Wheaten and Partridge?

the difference is that the e-locus is different for both, and affect primarily the hen's markings, not the roo's...

take a look at the genetics link in my sig (or go here) for an explanation of wheaten vs partridge... also the *color* partridge involves the pattern gene and mahogany as well as just the base coloration.

Okay, thanks. I see that most the difference in the visual is mostly in the hen.
