Chick, I think I added you on Face Book. Looking forward to Spring so I can start hatching Silkies again

Awesome will go look I. Need to fix my sig it is actually Cluk-N-Buk no FARM it wouldn't take the farm part so it's jut the Cluk n Buk part. Lol lemme go see if you are on mine ...

No I don't think it is designed to heat up like that for long periods and water when you dip eggs is only warm not hot like incubation..oxine is much better for that I'm going to try that myself come spring and hatching time. I would dip them as that is what provides a more bacteria free environment for the baby is the egg is fertile to develop in. The babies are stronger and hatch better and seem healthier than without it. It also gives the baby a bacteria prevention dose basically I guess. It say it helps to prevent things like cocci and MG early on. I need to find that like Deb was looking at the other day I will post it when I get it. Supposedly oxine sits on the shells and helps in disinfecting the shell. Literally kills bacteria..then the baby develops... Well the denagard actually penetrates the shell goes into the membrane and soaks into the developing embryos body and surroundings and does its thing to help it get stronger( I don't know how) and develop better and healthier.they hatch easier and faster and live more offer with fewer problems...that is basically what the article said I NEED to find that grrrr. Let me go look! I figure anything I can do I will I like denagard since it doesn't remove the bloom on the eggs.. I don't think oxine does either. If I could find the answer I would do both then hatch. The oxine first dry then denagard then dry I have two nice ladies that hatch eggs for me for test purposes maybe I should do an experiment? That is a GREAT IDEA! Then SHIP see if it helps them or if there is any difference at all.

Hey chick-among-us

Did you ever find the article you wrote about in this post ? I would really like to read it How strong do you mix the Denegard?

Most people on the Mille Fleur Cochin forum don't sell under $50 a dozen - not including shipping.  At least my $40 includes shipping.  I don't normally sell my eggs.  I usually hatch all I get or eat them (I did shut my 'bator down early because this new place does not have the room I had at the old farm).  I am starting my 4th year on MFCs and I am finally getting breast flowers on my birds.  I had to introduce partridge based girls to do it, but it was okay.  There type isn't the best, but my BC based birds have decent type (nothing like my blacks from Jamie Matts, but decent).  Type has been #1 on my priorities.  And foot feathering.  I have feathering on all 3 toes on many of my birds (thanks to Byron, who's dad was Tom Roebuck's top BC rooster in 2010).

I almost cut the MFCs out of my program 2x this year.  Truth is, I just love these birds.  I also know I am breeding for the right reasons.

i'm with chick-among-us... LOL I need to raise my prices.  I ususally get $25/doz plus s&h...  for any of my breeds/varieties.

Well if I just sell them out right I sell them for that price but I just think it is fun and gives people a chance to get quality eggs at a more doable price with shipping is awesome! I should try one like that.
I defiantly need to revisit my prices since my lavs are crystal creek and Harry SHAFFER lines! That is like some of the best breeders there ARE! I am working on feather quality egg color and type so trying not to mess up what they were all ready working on...side Crystalcreek has ceased operations..I have and got some of Cindy's last set of eggs from her birds of not THE last ones she gave out. Spring 2014 will show my what kind of quality we will be dealing with even more...my lavs are my babies so are the blacks...they are So sweet and precocious. Very friendly!

lol.. i always gave eggs away when I had extras.. the most I asked for was shipping.. but then again I'm weird like that!

I may have to hit you up in a while for some more of the lavender eggs.. I have 0 room in the bators now anyway... (lol.. 110 quail eggs plus just over 300 chicken eggs cooking at the moment)..
