Feedback on Learning Center "Treats Chart"

funny but true...

I made a version of Shepherd's Pie the other day, and made tiny dices of carrot, zucchini, onion and tomato - I had some left over so I fed them to my girls (8 weeks) but I figured they were soft from being sauteed...

Anyway... the ate EVERYTHING except for the carrots and then proceeded to poop all over them

Point taken...
...no more carrots

How old should they be before I can try feeding them some of the treats? I've fed my 2 week olds' some chopped up grapes and they looooooved them! Just wondering how long I should wait before I test them out on more options? I don't think it should be a problem if the treats are small, soft and given in moderation but... I'm new so I'm somewhat clueless :\\

I withhold treats until the chicks have access to gravel or grit, so that their bodies can digest the treats when they do get them.

I give my baby chicks parakeet gravel/grit. You can get a box at any store that sells small animal supplies. The box lasts forever. Just put a small dish of it in the pen they take what they need.

This isn't on the list, but in a way it's represented.... but we feed our birds inexpensive cockatiel feed we buy from Wally World as a treat. They tear it up like mad, and it has all kinds of different grains and seeds in it, including sunflower seeds. We take a handful of the stuff and scatter in the "front" of the pen to help the birds remember that when people approach, they should come to the fence-- they might get something yummy. It also helps them know where the gate is so that half of them don't get "stuck" in the pen when I loose them to go graze and forage. It has also tamed our once extremely people-shy rooster Aku, who will now come up to the fence with humans present, because he doesn't want to miss out on the cockatiel food. Is this weird, or have other people done this too?

They also seem to like watermelon rinds, with a little "Red" left on.

Just read the treat chart. Thank U . I read that chickens can have cabbage, but a friend told me no. so I have not given them any as of yet. UR chart shows it as a treat. I was just given 2 big beautiful looking fresh cabbage, we only eat it in boiled dinners.
Can chicks have cabbage ?
