Your welcome. The pullets are now 7weeks old & are doing great. I put an apple on a chopstick poked it through the
cage-mesh, then stuck another apple on the other side so there is 2 apples on either side of the mesh & a chop stick
thru the both of them. Unfortunately the chickens didnt go near it. They love bread tho

I fed my chickens meal worms when they were little and they love them, but they are a hassle to buy and they can eat a million of them. I started feeding them the dogs food. It's that Gains Burger type that's like play doh and they go crazy. They will fly across the yard as soon as they see me! Now I read that Methionine poison?! It's on the box as an ingredient. Does anyone have a treat that is easy to buy, store, carry in your pocket and the chickens love that s good for them?

Also, my vet told me to give my chickens a little bit of the horse wormer Ivermectin when I worm the horses. I worm the horses every other month. That sounds too frequent to me. What does everyone else do? We live where there are lots of mites and chiggers

So glad you did this! I just posted a Q about what not to feed them as I saw someone else post about potato skins! This is a huge help! Thanks for taking the time!

Thanks CC....I give them brown bread, usually two slices. They dont guzzle it down, it can take them all day to finally eat it.
The pullets are now 12 weeks old & they are huge!!! One of them is as big as the chinese silky roo!!! I saw other 12wk old pullets at
the farm supply place & mine are bigger. Mine have constant access to food though & I think the ones at the farm place get fed twice
a day. Makes a difference!!! My girls are healthy & happy. And the one that had a case of wry neck when she was about 4wks old is
the biggest one & top chook in the pecking order!!! So u never know how things will turn out. I love to sit & watch them scratch about,
& love watching them dust bath....very very cute.
