Hey guys. My not so little ducklings moved outside today where they have more room to run and play, grass under their feet, and a kiddie pool (only allowed in when im monitoring and for short periods)! Ill be picking up some more vitamin b complex for em tomorrow and also want to introduce some treats that might help with niacin as well. Peas are on the list since i hear sucks love em and they are a good niacin treatment. Should i cut them up or throw em in whole? Another treat i was thinking about was putting some feeder rosey red minnows like you get at walmart since they are smaller then bait shop minnows. Do they have niacin? What size should I aim for? How many? Is there a danger of them passing on something to the ducklings? I mean have you seen the conditions of feeder tanks? And last what are some other good treat they love and help provide niacin? Thanks!

I have seen a YouTube video where they did that. As for is it good for them, that would totally depend on how healthy those feeder fish are. Those poor fish are often loaded with disease and parasites so I would be cautious about using them.
Plus the dosing of chemicals the pet stores dump in

I wouldn't recommend it :) they are very sick fish, and are dosed with treatments for lots.

On another note, you could raise your own. Get a kiddy pool with some duckweed or similar and add a few musqeto (sp) fish. During the summer only though, unless in a mild climate and you could do it year round.
