Feeder replacement parts?

I have a metal feeder. I am not sure what kind it is. It's galvanized metal. I'm not sure what size it is. Holds about 3 days worth for 7 hens

It has a cylinder that has 2 open ends and has a hanger attached, and a pan at the bottom. There is a metal rod that holds it together. For some reason, the rod won't stay in. I don't want to fill it up just for food to fall out, but I need a hanginng feeder. Any ideas on how to fix it

is it the rod that run across the bottom and there are 2, if so I used a cable tye to keep it in place.

Maybe coat hanger wire?

If it's bigger, Lowe's has threaded rod in various sizes
