Hi all,

Sorry but I don't have time to scroll through the forum to find the answer I'm after, so was wondering if anybody can help me. I've 8 8 week-old Light Sussex chicks I'm rearing on rearer pellets and although I feed them ad lib I was just wondering out of interest how much an 8-week-old chick eats in its day in general anyway? I guess I'm trying to suss whether I'm offering enough food to make sure they all have their fill. Each feeder holds 786 grams of pellets.

Many thanks for your help!

Jess

The chart I have off a feed bag says that a chick for the period of 8-20 weeks will eat 12 pounds for that period. Working with what I have experienced, it is right. While a chick is growing I always try to have the feeder full. During the time they are growing I really don't like to short them on feed and stunt them.
