Feeding a 5 week old puppy *NEW PICS*

Ok, so I had purchased 12 of the large size cans of moist puppy food. I'll use those up during this next week or so, and I'll introduce dry puppy kibble.

Sounds good!

Thanks lemurchaser for the tip about switching to adult kibble when 4 months old or so. I wondered about the big dog thing, and how to adjust the food to keep the puppies from getting too big too fast.

Here he is. My three year old son has been calling him "Blue" all morning. We'll see if the name sticks.

What a cute puppy! I hope those eyes stay blue. Was the dad blue eyed?

I had a great dog back in the day named Blue.....it is one of those classic dog names. I also had a weim pup that had blue eyes for the first few weeks only. He was partly blue eyed catahoula mix.

I have a karelian bear dog mix with blue eyes, probably mixed with heeler or husky. Those are the two breeds I associate with blue eyes, bear dogs are not supposed to have them. I don't know which dogs in that group is blue eyed, sometimes aussies have partly blue eyes too but those are usually merle. Maybe the pup has some australian shep or siberian husky or the eyes will not stay blue.

He is absolutely beautiful and quite unique. What a great Christmas present!

LOL...those pics were taken early this morning soon after the sun came up. He's in the house whenever he's not doing his business!
