hi i have a rabbit that is almost one year old and she is on timothy hay and pellets and some veggies but not much she is kinda picky about her veggies but any way i was wondering how much pellets i should feed her each day and what kinds and how much of veggies to feed each day thanks for all help and tips

Rabbits shouldn't necessarily get any vegetables. The natural diet is grasses, and various weeds like dandelion, as well as branches and leaves. Mine get pellets, I just give them a scoop, and fill as necessary. They also get grass, dandelions, and willow branches in the warm months, and hay in the winter. I occasionally give a bit of apple of carrot for a treat, and a pinch of black oil sunflower seeds in the winter months, or for a supplement for a nursing doe.

It's not a set system. I only fed about an ounce each for rabbits unless they were being weaned or were nursing, back when my parents kept them. They lived mostly off grass I cut in the pasture. My sister feeds hers all pellets, all the time. They seem to do fine. I know people who keep theirs entirely on grass hay (as opposed to alfalfa or timothy or clover, not as in weeds and hay) and corn.

How much does she weigh? The amount of pellets fed will vary with the size, breed, and overall genetics of an individual rabbit. She doesn't need any vegetables each day; you can give some sparingly if you want. Hay also isn't essential, but it does support digestive health, so there is nothing wrong with having hay available to her at all times.

My Netherland dwarfs get one fourth of a cup.holland lops one half cup.dutch half acup.our new Zealand s got a full cup.if you could tell us the breed we could give s better answer.

This. (although we feed 1/4 to hollands as well and 1/2 and up for larger breeds) Also, hay is definitely essential. Nutritionally, not really, but it helps keep their teeth worn and their bowels moving. Timothy and orchard grass are what we feed after 6 mos.

Rabbits have very sensitive digestive systems so you do have to be careful when introducing new foods to their diet. We have had two pet rabbits for 6 years now. Ours always have pellets and timothy hay available. Every night they get a half a carrot each and a couple leaves of kale. They also get cilantro or a strawberry on occasion for a treat.
