Hi Steve..first of all, you do live in heaven in up state which is beautiful to begin with...read about the different breeds on line and it will inform you. what weather is best, size eggs they will lay, temperament.. I've had many types over the years.."The Girls" are just so much fun.. they become like your kids...make sure you have a few geese & ducks too.. Muscovy Ducks are a hoot !!! just girls tho.. hahahahahha have fun Happy Trails Nancy & Gang
