Good morning BYCers! I've had chickens for 2 years now, and am intimately familiar with Chicken Math. When asked how many I have, I reply, 14, when in fact I have 14 adult layers AND 14 chicks of assorted breeds. Oh, and 3 adult Muscovys AND 6 Muscovy ducklings. I love CM!

Anyway, I just finished another wonderful cup of herb tea and would love to lob the contents to the chicks but unsure if there may be other things in the tea which might be harmful. All of my teas are herbal, most being chamomile or some definitive of a "sleep time" nature, meaning, light on caffeine. If not best for the chicks, what about the layers...?

Let me know your thoughts!

About the only component I'm aware of in tea that might prove toxic to chicks would be the high amounts of tannin in black tea, but it's so bitter, the chicks probably wouldn't eat it anyway.
