Im wondering how much and how often I should be feeding my chicks. They are a week and a half old and I have 8 of them. They are eating fermented start & grow feed. I feed them first thing in the morning around 7:00. Around 1:00 or so their food is usually gone and I give them more. I do the same in the evening. At night I clean out their feeder and leave it out of the brooder. The past day or two I've been giving them food more frequently, at least 4 times today. I'm not really measuring how much I give them, just giving them more when they run out. Should I be regulating their feed more, like giving a set amount at set times? They're growing so fast it seems like they are eating more and more every day. I want to make sure they are getting their fill and not eating just because there is food available.

You're doing it right. While most of us feed FF to our adult flock once in the morning and again in the afternoon, we feed baby chicks on demand.

They demand. We fetch and serve.

The eat hardly at all the first week, but boy do they ever dive in from then on. They double in size each week, and that requires a lot of calories and nutrients. So you can't over-feed them. Just keep filling their dish when it gets empty.
