Feeding growers and layers together

I start feeding my pullets a layer mix at about 6 to 7 months old sometimes abit earlier because I have to sometimes put them in with the adult chooks to make more room for the other younger ones I'm growing up. And I'm not to fussed on what my rooster eats he eats everything. I just chuck a handful of shellgrit in the feeder everytime I fill it up. But there's already gravel kind grit in with the layer scratch mix already.

Thanks. I'm overthinking it I think!

I'm not to sure about the roosters diet. But mine have been eating a layer scratch mix and that has layer pellets in amongst it. My rooster seems to be fine and he's been on it for about nearly 9 months he's nearly 2 I reckon. Both of my rooster breeds. They started eating it at about 7 to 8 months.
