Feeding layers eggshells?

Hi everyone, so I have two bluebells who are commercial layers (I regret buying them now as I believe they don’t have a long lifespan and usually die of reproductive issues) who lay an egg EVERYday, and I have been feeding them layers pellets. I always assumed that was enough food, however, today when I was feeding them some scraps, there happened to be some scrambled egg mixed in it. I noticed that those two birds (none of the rest of them) were mad for the egg. And I got me wondering, should I be feeding them eggshells as well as the layer food?

I Let my egg shells air dry in a slatted wooden clementine box on my sun porch. I have 2 boxes one for fresh egg shells an the other ready to crush when needed.
I also offer oyster shell 24/7/365.
It's one of the cheapest things I can spend on my flock and one bag 25lb lasts a couple years. Offer granite grit also so your birds can grind and process the shell and get the benifit.

Thanks! Do the eggshells need to be crushed?
