Feeding maggots to ducks

Hi. I was wondering if I were to leave a dish of food out to attract flies and get them to lay eggs then raised the maggots to be fed to the ducks , is that safe? I heard one risk of feeding maggots is botulism but I believe that’s only if the maggots have fed on an infected source. What about feeder store crickets and meal worms?

My chickens went nuts over maggots (from a compost bowl that went too long); the ducks were being ducks and wouldn't even look at them....
