Feeding new hatched shamo

Have some Shamo chicks coming and would like to know what type of feed to give them. Have read that they need low protein feed, but not sure what percentage protein to feed. Anybody help me out here? How soon should the males be separated? Thanks.

I would go with a regular starter/grower feed to begin.
I'd start them off with 18% for a couple weeks and switch to 15 or 16.


I don't think it's that critical. I know people that raised baby turkey poults on 16% and chicks on 28%. I wouldn't do either but they lived.

ETA

They need good ventilation and if confined they may fight. I'd give them lots of room and separate when they begin to do more than the occasional chest bump.
