We don't have any quail yet, just chickens. What food do they need? We plan on hatching ours. We have one store that sells a gamebird/ turkey breeder crumble. It's 17% protein. We plan of getting bobwhites.

For your hatchling quail chicks look for "Gamebird Starter" it is commonly 28-30% and you can get it at most farm and home type stores.

I would find a turkey or gamebird starter of 24% or higher, especially for bobwhites. Protein is very important for growth, feather plumage, even aggressiveness in breeders. The higher the better.
