Feeding questions

I have a 1 and a half-year-old muscovy duck. Shes a little smaller than ducks for her age.

I feed her about a handful a day and she seems to be thriving on that with no complications. But I'm not sure of this is enough. I know this sounds super stupid but I'm not that confident about what i think.

How big is a handful? Ducks and chickens nibble all day to fill their crops, a chicken needs about 4oz of feed a day, I'd imagine muscovies need a bit more. What do you feed her?

a handful is about 5oz, i give her a little more then a handful.

She Interacts with other ducks all day besides nighttime. I can't take in another duck as she was a rescue and i dont live on an appropriate farm, but i do live on a lake with a lot of other ducks so i take her outside to play with other ducks at the lake every day.

if you can’t get another duck i recommend finding her a new home. having two ducks is needed for ducks to thrive, and if that can’t be provided she should be somewhere where she can have a buddy

Yeah, you need to free feed, that's how ducks work, she's probably a bit stunted. Are you feeding her duck feed?
A 'phobia' is fear, I don't fear anyone. I respect that people can do whatever they want, I'm not going to treat them any different. However, being forced to tolerate or applaud children being sexualized at early age is something I won't do. The trauma is not easily undone. Mocking me for my opinion is not respectful or tolerant. Yes, poultry are social animals, they really do need friends. Birds are like french fries, you just can't have one.

There are lots of different ways to do things in regards to husbandry.

I currently give my ducks access to duck pellets all day, as much as they can eat. I put fresh food down in the morning and compost whatever remains in the evening. This is my preferred method for myself and my ducks.
