I am going to start feeding my chickens feed without soy and wondered what other peoples experience was, pros & cons.
Also, if you sell eggs, does the "soy free" make them more saleable?

There is definitely a market out there for soy-free, but I wouldn't know about your area. I have just been reading about how some are avoiding all soy in eggs on BYC and Craigslist.

I tried to feed my chickens soy-free for a couple of years. It went well, and then I realized after keeping the chick starter (organic) mixed into the feed this year instead of dropping it at 6-8 weeks like I normally did, that the chickens grew so much LARGER than I was used to.

So I have kept the chick starter in my mix. I am a soy convert. But ONLY organic soy!!!!!

(Also the egg production is better!)
