Feeding spoiled pheasant?

tried the wetted, she didn't even try it, threw a meal worm in it and she just made a wet mess finding it.... threw the mush to my chickens and even they wont eat the mush

Bummer deal! You have odd birds though, there isn't much mine won't eat.

The only other thing I can think of try is having her watch other birds eat pellets. I recently bought an araucana cockerel who had no idea what whole corn was. It took him a couple of weeks while watching the others gobble up corn kernels. Once it seemed to click with him that the kernels were food he had to learn how to pick them up and eat them. Looks like he's got it now.

Due to the quarantine other birds with her are out for now, for at least 2 more weeks and her being a "housebird" and not use to winter temps that kinda limits me too(I am not bringing more birds into my 1 room cabin). Also I wouldn't know what to put her with to show her.
Yesterday i have seen her listlely picking at the pellets tho, she went bonkers when I tried to eat a granola bar within her sight(weird I know, wants a granola bar but doesn't like oats, barley and corn in a bowl....) so i crumbled part of it up and stirred it into her pellets. After she was done picking those pieces out she started picking at the pellets! Yay, this bird may learn after all.

granola bar but not oats - maybe a sweet tooth? er ... sweet beak?

no suggestions here, just watching to see how this turns out.

I officially decided that her quarantine was over yesterday(actually wanted a reason to kick her out of the house to clean....). I doubt she has ever been near other birds and carries anything i need to worry about. Was a nice warm day yesterday +7C(in Janurary! insanity! normally -20C is the norm) so I put her in a small quarantine cage outside for the day. Man she was peeved!!! Angry fit of the squeaky-toy by the sound of it

.

At night it dippes down to -16C tho so I brought her back in the house and shocked her by throwing my misfit ringneck dove in with her(poor thing gets beaten up by everything). Needless to say the dove rules the cage now... but she intently watches the dove eat those yucky pellets and then eats some after shes done.

I also share my house with 4 three-week-old black leghorn chicks, their cage was squirrled away in the bathroom due to the pheasants presents. Now they are across from ms prisses cage on the opposite counter. Oh I got to hear her being upset about that for about an hour today......
She is gonna get socialized to other birds now, wether she likes it or not.

just a little update, the little miss priss is very nice and social now and even has found her mothering instinct! She eats her GB feed now and only gets the occasional lettuce, apple and mealworm for treats.

She doesn't leave her cage even when its open but the black leghorn chicks invite themselfs in, I am happy to report she gets along fine with them and enjoys their visits.

As of 2 days ago the leggers got thrown out of the house(its warm enough outside and they DRIVE ME NUTS! think leghorns are hyper when afraid of you, try hyper and wanna be with you all the time

) so it got quiet in the house finally...
Miss priss seems to have taken a liking to baby anythings, took her out of her cage to clean it and she jumped into the brooder i have quail in and started mothering the 2 quail in it. Well they moved into her cage now(old enough to be without heat) and she is very serious about her mommy role. Mealworms get offered and fed to the quail instead of devoured like usual

together with all other foodstuff.
I have the hatcher on the counter across from her cage and the last 2 days had chicken chicks hatch, every peep out of the hatcher is immediately answered with a series of mommy pheasant chirps and whistles... and we get really upset if I take the chicks to put them in the brooder and make them cry.

I sleep with earplugs right now since in a 1 room house you hear the all night conversation miss priss is having with the chicks in the hatcher/brooder.

Maybe instead of a male I should just find her some red golden eggs to hatch.
