Feeding the chickens crushed egg shells??????

Mine go nuts for microwaved egg shells even though I have oyster shell available all the time. Go figure. I think they like the litte bit of egg left on it.

A few months ago I started fermenting the feed for the chickens. It's not hard to do and I like the idea of the chickens getting probiotics. I ferment whole oats, wheat, sunflower seeds, scratch & lay pellets- equal amounts. I also put a small amount of cooked crushed eggshell in with the feed to ferment. My chickens love it and the eggs are clean so are the nest boxes.
