Feeding tomatoes?

My chickens eat everything:

spaghetti and meatballs
chicken and turkey carcass'
lettuce
spinache
tomatoes
black olives
cucumbers
cantalope
watermelon
egg plant
squash
apples
oranges
bananas
apricot/strawberry jelly
apple sauce
cocktail fruit
corn on the cob/canned/cream
fresh green beans/canned
asparagus
broccoli
cauliflower
broccoli/cauliflower w/ cream cheese
mango
amish/raisin/wheat/rye/white bread
bird seeds (all types)
horse grain
chicken and dumplings/rice
cooked potatoes

--- and my list can go on and on and on and my eggs do not taste funny. Every time I go to the store for groceries, I spend $10 on veggies for my chickens.

I'm with you CoyoteMagic---my 2007 flock free-ranged it right into my tomato garden and started gobbling every tomato they could sink their beaks into!!!

Tomatoes, my chickens love tomatoes and everything else, but tomatoes are what the eat first, no matter what is mixed in.

I noticed if i feed alot of tomatoes to the chickens they stop laying for a couple weeks.

If they eat so much that they aren't eating enough layer feed and don't have enough protein to make an egg, then I could see it being a problem.

i got a book when i was getting into chickens a couple of years ago and in the book i read that chickens can eat anything that dont eat them!

now i dont know if that is the best advise but i feed my chickens all kind of things and i havent lost any because of it. i will throw left overs out to my dog and its a race to see who can eat the most first, my dog ( the good one),chickens, or turkeys!!
